Overview: This site gives visualizations of many of the difficult concepts that come up in introductory quantum mechanics and several more advanced topics. Topics include 1D systems with various potentials, eigenfunctions and eigenvalues, superposition, time dependant states, harmonic oscillator, 2D systems, wavepacket evolution, 3D systems, and spin. The visualizations range from simple animations to those that include significant user interaction. Learning Goal(s): Understanding of functions and solutions to many quantum mechanical systems through visualizations that allow changes in some system parameters. Applets range from animations to interactive simulations. Most are accompanied by text that clarify the associated learning goals. Target Student Population(s): Sophomore-level modern physics to Senior-level quantum mechanics. Also could be used in introductory graduate-level quantum mechanics courses. Prerequisite Knowledge or Skills: Students will need prerequisites sufficient to be taking an introductory quantum mechanics course. link naar Quantum Physics Online Jan Rasenberg |
